Vehicle Options

SAAB - I've ruled this out. Not enough trunk space to carry clubs, clothes, etc., and also fit the rag top.

RV - Class A? Class C? Other? - Ruled this out too. Too clunky to drive around and parking restrictions. Also too expensive to rent per day compared to just staying in a hotel.

Prius - the leading candidate. Dix tells me the trunk is big enough and love the gas mileage.

Other Options - non-Prius Hybrid? - I hear a lot of talk about the Hybrid SUV's. Will have to look into this further.

VW Microbus - There's a brand new one coming out, but not soon enough. But it does look cool: VW Bus

Train? - No
Flying? - When/if I go international.

OK - the RV idea is sweet! I would do that altho it is expensive to rent and you may need to get a license depending on the class.

Yeah. A lot to think about with RV's. I am now leaning toward doing it simpler, but RV's could add a lot to the trip...it could be a mobile apartment, complete with Satelite TV and TiVo...that might not be a good thing. Still thinking about it.

no, no NO RV! It's so limiting and although you would get to meet a unique group of people, your restaurant choices would be severely limitied. You need a hybrid. Ship us your Tivo, we'll set it up and record anything you want. Stop by every so often (there must a formula for number of days between Tivo visits) and watch TV for a week or so.
